Scientia Movens 2026 — a note of thanks from FTVS UK

Two weeks on from Scientia Movens 2026, the dust has settled and the verdict from FTVS UK is clear: the day worked. Held on 15 May 2026 at Prague's historic Tyršův dům as part of the international Tafisa Congress Prague 2026, the student conference put young Czech researchers shoulder-to-shoulder with an international audience — exactly the kind of exposure that turns a student project into a research career.

In the days that followed, Dr. Mgr. Aleš Vlk, Vice-Dean for External Relations at FTVS UK, wrote to the conference's sponsors — Dr. Lambl among them — with a warm thank-you for helping make it possible.

FTVS UK has since published a full recap, with photographs:

The day was also covered across FTVS UK's social channels:

We're grateful to have been part of this year's edition, and we're already looking forward to what the next cohort of FTVS UK researchers brings.

On 15 May 2026, Prague hosted the international Tafisa Congress 2026 — one of the world's largest gatherings devoted to sport for all. Tucked inside the programme was Scientia Movens, the student research conference of Charles University's Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS UK), where the next generation of Czech sport scientists shared their work alongside an international audience.

Dr. Lambl currently sponsors five FTVS UK projects, and Scientia Movens is one we're especially glad to support. Better understanding of movement, training and recovery is squarely on-mission for us — helping people keep their knees, and themselves, in motion for the long run starts with the kind of work these students are doing.

The photograph from the day shows Dr. Mgr. Aleš Vlk, Vice-Dean for External Relations at FTVS UK, opening the session.

Four organisations stood as sponsors of the event:

  • IOCB Tech — the technology transfer arm of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ÚOCHB), often associated with the IOCB Tech Foundation.
  • KPMG
  • Decathlon
  • Dr. Lambl
